My journey in game development started long before I ever wrote my first line of C# or opened an engine. At age 6, holding my first handheld console, I fell in love with interactive worlds. That curiosity only grew as I leveled up to larger platforms like the Xbox 360 and eventually built my own PC. But in middle school, playing wasn’t enough anymore. I needed to know how games worked. I wanted to dissect the code and the art, to understand the design choices behind the experiences that moved me.
That itch to create led me to join the Technology Student Association (TSA) to build indie titles for game design competitions. Today, as a graduate with a B.S. in Computer Simulation and Gaming Development from the University of Tulsa, my goal remains clear: to engineer deeply engaging, immersive gaming experiences that inspire the next generation of players the same way I was inspired.
Making a great game takes a lot more than just a cool idea. It takes clear direction, smooth pipelines, and someone keeping the ship steady. That’s where I come in.
My approach to game production comes from a unique mix of hands-on indie dev and real-world leadership. As a Transmission Operator, and team leader in the U.S. Marine Corps, I managed teams of up to 30 people, ran communications for massive multi-national operations, and learned how to stay calm and decisive under serious pressure.
In game development, I use that same discipline to keep teams inspired and on track. I’ve worn every hat, designing, coding, and shipping my own solo indie games from scratch. I’ve led cross-functional teams of artists, engineers, and writers through complex capstones and projects at events like IndieCade. Whether I’m building sprint schedules, organizing playtests, or setting up dev pipelines, my main goal is always the same: to keep the project moving forward without losing the creative spark that makes the game special.
Under the hood, I bridge the gap between creative design, team management, and solid technical engineering. I’m a Unity Certified Developer comfortable working in both Unity (C#) and Unreal Engine 5 (C++), with hands-on experience in everything from 3D modeling in Blender to setting up Git workflows for large team projects.
On the engineering side, I love solving complex technical puzzles. I’ve built multiplayer networks with real-time state sync and custom lobby systems, created real-time simulations using CIGI protocols, and built spatial UI and controls for immersive XR experiences. I’m also a big fan of making life easier for my team. I’ve built custom Unity Editor tools and plugins that automate tedious design tasks and cut iteration times by 90%. If it makes the game run more smoothly or helps the team build faster, I’m on it.
When I’m not building games or leading production, I love giving back to the dev community. I run a YouTube channel focused on breaking down complex concepts into practical Unity tutorials and creating study resources to help developers pass their Unity Certification exams. I also regularly speak on developer panels for game dev programs at local schools, sharing real-world insights with the next generation of creators. Teaching and mentoring are the best way to sharpen my own skills, and helping other developers level up is easily one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
